March 2011

Boston - March 17th, 2011

It is with great pleasure that I welcome Aegean to the World Air Routes, our 230th airline in the series!! Aegean is also the 12th Star Alliance airline to be filmed. This is our 2nd widescreen program filmed in High Definition and the re-introduction of multi-cameras in the cockpit. The highlight of this DVD is no doubt the Airbus A321 flight from Athens to London Heathrow and back! You will see this fantastic airport like never before! Starting with an approach and holding with spectacular views of other airplanes and the city of London, followed by a crosswind approach and landing, seen twice from 2 different angles! Once we land we observe several other aircraft making their crosswind landing including the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777. In addition the DVD covers an A320 flight from Germany to Athens as well as a couple of Avro RJ100 flights within Greece. Please take a moment to visit our Greece page as well as our StarAlliance page. We are currently working on the 3rd and 4th High Def programs and I'm hoping they will be released in April and May.

As promised we're continuing to bring back older VHS video titles to DVD and this month its the very special high altitude landing on the Challenge Air Boeing 757-200 Freighter. First off this is still the only program we've produced featuring the freighter version of the Boeing 757. We created a new page for the Boeing757 on our website showing all the programs we've produced on the aircraft. This CAC program was one of the most demanded videos and I urge you to let us know which video you would like to see on DVD when we discuss these issues on our Facebook Page. We will pick more titles that you request over the coming weeks and months! Same thing applies to the sold out DVDs we're bringing back. In the last couple of weeks we've brought back 2 rare types of airplanes in the series. The Belfast featured in the Heavylift program and the Lockheed 1011 Tristar featured in the YesAir program. Both sold out a number of years ago and are popular titles. We plan to continue bringing back a number of sold out titles throughout our 20th Anniversary year but we do urge you to keep an eye on our website as some of those titles are coming back in limited quantities and won't be available for too long although we always make an effort to notify people when a title is almost sold out.

Last, but certainly not least, I am very touched by the events in Japan and I invite everyone to join our special "Japan week" next week. We will donate $5 to the Red Cross for Japan for every DVD featuring Japan sold during the next week. This will run from Friday, March 25th through Thursday, April 1st. We're planning to re-release a program featuring an airline of Japan that has been sold out for a long time and include several other titles that include flights to Japan. More information will be posted on our facebook page as we approach the start of this and I invite you to tune in and like our page so you can stay informed and participate in this special event! Thank you
