About Air Nostrum & the CRJ-1000

Air Nostrum, Iberia Regional, operates as a franchise carrier for Iberia. It currently uses a fleet of around 70 aircraft and has orders for 50 more. The airline operates flights to more than 50 destinations for a total of around 100 routes.

Air Nostrum was the launch carrier for the CRJ-1000 and first to place an order for the aircraft in 2009. It recently started taking delivery of the aircraft and has ordered a total of 35. It is operated with 100 seats.

The aircraft first flew in late 2008 and was awarded its operating type certificate at the en of 2010. Air Nostrum was also the first airline to take delivery and place the aircraft into revenue service in 2011.

The cockpit is nearly identical to the CRJ-900. The CRJ-1000 has a wingspan of 26.17m and incorporates a redesigned wing-tip, winglets and an optimised wing leading edge to provide a lower lift-to-drag ratio and allow reduced approach speeds.

Another great program from Spain, following in the tradition of the Iberia series, this time on Iberia Regional Air Nostrum CRJ-1000 and 900! This is World Air Routes first DVD on the CRJ-1000, which is especially appropriate, as Air Nostrum is the world's first operator of this CRJ model. The very accommodating Captain and First Officer provide detailed presentations throughout the program, including cockpit instrumentation and aircraft systems, pre-flight cockpit set-up and a wonderful aircraft walkaround with an excellent close-up look at the exterior of the 1000. Besides 2 German destinations, we get very nice views of some Spanish destinations from 3 different camera angles on takeoff, approach and landing. The scenery on approach and landing at Pamplona, and the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains, is outstanding! The program concludes with a flight in the cabin from Porto, Portugal to Madrid with cabin service including a hot meal on a flight of less than 1 hour! Very nice! Also, some beautiful views of the Air Nostrum CRJ fleet accompanied by dramatic Spanish music are featured. Thanks Just Planes for another very entertaining and informative World Air Routes program! Outstanding! Just Planes and Air Nostrum have put together probably the most complete program you could ever ask for from start to finish. It has absolutely everything, from the CRJ 1000 which has never been featured before, awesome taxing footage at Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Madrid, fleet action, flight deck presentations, a walk around, 4 different camera angles on the approaches, great scenery, a cabin flight and last but not least a great Airline and a fantastic flight crew featuring CPT Pelegri and F/O Hernandez who were extremely friendly and treated us with two nice hand flown visual approaches into Pamplona and Granada. I always forget how much I like the CRJ family, and this program reminded me what a great airplane it is with such a nice cockpit. The crew was great, nice scenery and the route selection was very well chosen. All the flights were very entertaining, but the approach into Pamplona was the highlight for me.
