LAM (Linheas Aereas do Mozambique), the national carrier of Mozambique was founded in 1936 as DETA. In November 1980 the name was changed to LAM Mozambique Airlines. LAM provides service on domestic and regional routes with a fleet of Boeing 737-200's as well as a mix of regional aircraft including the Embraer 120 and Jetstream 41. Intercontinental routes are operated with the Boeing 767-200.


This program takes you on the different kinds of routes operated from LAM's main base at Maputo Airport on its 4 main types of aircraft. Included are its European route, regional routes to Tanzania and South Africa as well as domestic flights to more than half a dozen destinations.

For me, this LAM program is my first DVD. I enjoyed the program alot, especially the parts on Embraer 120 from Pemba to Dar es Salaam and on J41 from Beira into Johannesburg. The interview with the Chairman of the Airline was also interesting among other scenes in the program. Keep it up and keep it coming World Air Routes, on programs of one of the most rarest Airlines in the world.

Your new LAM Mozambique program is great. I particularly enjoy the two turboprop types with the especially nice scenery on the Embraer 120 up and down the coast of Mozambique and into Dar Es Salaam. Nice cockpit views and cabin scenes on all 4 aircraft types. I also enjoyed the sightseeing tours of Pemba and the resorts. Keep these wonderful World Air Routes programs coming!
