For those Virtual Pilots who would like to take a jump-seat ride in a Boeing 737-300/400, this Just planes' DVD is the next best thing. Shot from the point-of-view of the flight-deck "guest," watch as the pilots prepare and fly their "baby" Boeings from/to airports in South Africa, whilst discussing some of the points pilots take into consideration during operational flights. Points such as routing considerations, FMC set-up, weather, and arrivals.
Just Planes assume that their audience has a working knowledge of the Boeing 737 in terms of the displays, FMC, and autopilot. Although none of the instruments are explained or demonstrated, none of the enjoyment is taken away from this DVD and it is well suited to any Virtual Pilot who would like to witness the operation of this exceptional aircraft.
Having watched the Comair Ltd DVD "simmers" can venture over to the schedules pages and choose and fly the Comair routes with BAV also. Putting into practice some of the information shared on the screen with Flight Simulator is a great way of adding to the reality of British Airways Virtual, which should please the majority of Virtual Pilots and enhance their abilities. This DVD is a good companion to the simulation world.
Flying online and watching this DVD during the cruise, on a Saturday, with some Pan Haggerty cooking in the kitchen, the smell of Smokey Bacon filling your nostrils, will be an experience great weekends are made of. There is nothing that compares to receiving a new purchase through the post and having some free time to savour the delights of watching the Comair Captains fly their 737s.
The only down-side is that the DVD makes you wish that was your job! There are 249 minutes of footage, in total, on this DVD making the US$30 price tag a reasonable request. There will be nothing to stop you from enjoying this title. .
