Filmed in 2004 - Released in 2005

Cebu Pacific, the Filipinos airline of choice, operates low cost service with a fleet of Boeing 757s on longer and busier routes as well as a dozen Douglas DC9-30s mostly on domestic routes. The airline has placed an order for Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft which will start replacing the fleet in 2005.

This dvd is an opportunity to fly the DC9s and 757s on 9 domestic routes in the Philippines including the busy Manila-Cebu and Manila-Davao sectors. Flights are filmed in the cockpit and pilots give presentations of the aircraft throughout the program. A couple of these flights were filmed in the cabin with views over the wings on takeoff and landing.

I'm a sucker for classic jetliners, and this one definitely did not disappoint!  The DC-9 is one of my favorite aircrafts, along with the Boeing 727-200, 737-200, and early MD-80's.  Anyhoo, I really enjoyed seeing these guys fly this extraordinary bird right from the cockpit.  That beautiful turquoise colored instrument panel, all the steam gauge instruments, I could go on forever.  If you're a DC-9 lover like myself, get this DVD now, you will not be disappointed you did!  Thanks Just Planes!

PS: I also recommend the Aeropostal DVD as well!

This video on Cebu Pacific Air is excellent! The approach into Tagbilaran was interesting, and the landing into the old Bacolod airport was worth noting due to the short runway length. Capt. Avila's walkaround is worth watching again and again due to his explanation of the DC-9's exterior, which was both very articulate and entertaining. Thank you and keep up the great work justplanes! :)

GREAT JOB ! thank you!   Richard Fischer, GERMANY

This is one interesting video. I liked very much because the pilots talk about their plane from the start. Walking around the plane checking the tires to showing the cpu. The stewardess seems very knowledgeable and having fun about their job. Especially when they were having a contest inside the plane. It goes back to the good old PSA (Pacific Southwest Airlines) that were flying within California way back in the 70's. That's what flying is all about. Having fun!

Cebu Pacific is a great program! Interesting scenery of the Philippines with many exotic island destinations. The approach and landing into Tagbilaran is especially exciting. Good detailed walkarounds of both aircraft types with the DC9 walkaround being really informative and entertaining. Captain Avila does the first comical walkaround I've ever seen. I didn't know the DC9 had a 50 caliber machine gun until I saw this walkaround! :) Thank you Captain Avila! It's great to once again hear loud and clear ATC and the 3 and a half flights in the cabin are fantastic. I love the inflight "Name that song" contest. A really outstanding program! Keep it up!   Greg Rowland, USA

The program started with a short (but fair) introduction and history of the carrier. There was a sense of nostalgia as Capt. Millado briefly explains the arrival procedure to Davao (runway 05). My home is a few miles to this airport and I used to have a great view planes taking off and landing outside my house. Good walkaround for the 757 at Davao airport by F/O Jadie. The succeeding walkaround for the DC-9 was by far the funniest I have seen in the history of Just Planes. Capt. Avila does a great job in educating and entertaining the viewer as well. This old (but reliable) aircraft was carefully presented in this program. Pilots are also seen performing challenging non-precision approaches in short (and sometimes wet) runways. Cebu Pacific's attendants are great singers too! There was clear ATC communication, you can hear the busy traffic sector in Manila placing both the pilots and controllers on their toes! Thank you Just Planes for the great scenes at Davao airport.
