B737-200C..Fk28
Canadian North celebrated its independence in September 2002 and in February 2003 it unveiled the first aircraft painted with the new livery. The airline operates a fleet of Fokker 28s and Boeing 737-200s Combi aircraft equipped to land on gravel strips. Canadian North and its partners serve over 40 communities in the north through their three gateway cities: Edmonton, Calgary and Ottawa.
This program is a unique opportunity to discover the wonderful operation of Canadian North including the rare operation of the Boeing 737 Combi. Also included is a flight to a Diamond Mine in Canada where the 737 lands on a gravel strip! and special operations and navigation in Northern Canada where the compass play an important role.

The Canadian North DVD is outstanding. I was very interested in the operation of this carrier and after viewing this video we can see just how remote Canada is yet there is such scenic beauty evident in this video. The F28 was truly unique in that we saw a father and son team in the cockpit for the first few flights. It was also unique that this aircraft has dual throttle quadrants for both Captain and F/O. The real treat of this program though was the 737-200 and the flight into Diavik Mine. It looked like the plane was literally landing on a road and the technology involved to do it including a nosewheel skid and vortex dissipators is truly fascinating. The crews gave us nice cockpit details and the astro compass was also a treat to see being used during one of the flights. I liked the transition from wing view to flight deck on the takeoff rolls and landings as well as one landing filmed from the ground and from the wing at the same time in terms of showing it on the screen. This is a must buy for those interested in Northern Canadian flying and in a sense it almost feels like you are in the bush but with jets and not with Beavers. As an aspiring pilot, I watched this video and wondered if perhaps one day I could be at the controls of one of these jets while building my flight experience.

Absolutely awesome...well worth the money. This look into this small Northern carrier is really interesting. Some of the destinations were places I'd never heard of before watching this DVD. It was very interesting to see the pilots have to go to true heading in some navigation & it was neat to see the gravel landing at the Diavik Mine site, literally in the middle of nowhere. Great job with this one!

A very enjoyable program on Canadian North! Lots of interesting and unusual scenery on this one. The cabin flight aboard the F28 is especially enjoyable. Nice walkarounds of both aircraft types including an interesting explanation of the special equipment required for gravel runway operations on the 737. Also a fascinating presentation of the astro-compass for the very high latitude operations of Canadian North. A very interesting and entertaining program!

Gentlemen, I'd like to once again compliment you all on a terrific job with the Cockpit DVD's. I have quite a few of them and thoroughly enjoy each one, often for different reasons. Lately the ones that I have been particularly pleased with are the Air Labrador and Canadian North DVD's. Being Canadian, a former Bush Pilot, and now flying mainly through Flight Simulator 2004 (MS), these videos not only bring back good memories, but give me a better sense of realism in the virtual cockpit. Thank you very much for your terrific series, and continued good luck.

I received the new Canadian North DVD, AWESOME! I loved the detailed look at Northern Canada operations. The use of the compass, to flying via True heading, vice versa. Fokker 28 and B737 footage was excellent, especially the gravel strip landing. I hope there are more Canadian airlines featured in the Just planes series! Congrats!

I have just received your latest video, Canadian North. What a great show. It is a wonderful exploration into the north country. All that I've heard of flying in the north seems to be verified in this video. It certainly captures the spirit of the north! Plus, there is plenty of technical data and procedures.

The Canadian North program is a great DVD! All of the scenery (especially in Yellowknife) is beautiful. The cockpit crews give great detailed instrument and walkaround tours - and the explanation of the special equipment and landing rules necessary for the gravel strip make this title unique. Congratulations on another great production!!
